Charlie & Me
Charlie Hunter was in Atlanta last night performing with Kurt Elling, and we had a great hang before the show. I played drums in Charlie’s band from 2000 to 2002. That was my first big gig and we traveled the world together (and made a few albums). He’s the best!!! Great musician, a true artist, and righteous dude. Charlie Hunter's album Songs from the Analog Playground was released on September 25th, 2001 from Blue Note Records. Featuring John Ellis on sax, Chris Lovejoy on percussion, and me on drums. It was Charlie's first record with guest vocalists (Norah Jones, Yasiin Bey aka Mos Def, Kurt Elling, and Theryl "Houseman" DeClouet). This photo was taken on the last day of recording at Water Music in Hoboken, NJ on February 19th, 2001.
